Never taken an improv class before? Well now is your chance to try it out with experienced BIG instructors!
This introductory workshop is designed to give potential students an opportunity to experience what a class is like before committing to a full course.
Through simple, fun and supportive games, participants will explore basic concepts like playfulness, listening and agreement – all in a safe and comfortable group setting geared specifically toward those who are new to improv.
Five dates only! August 16th, 23rd, 24th, 25th. Test/Industry night August 14th.

Project P.S. is a completely self-contained 45-60 minute multi-sensory experiences for a group of up to five people. Subjects needed. Join in on procedures and extractions of metaphysical kurayami with a biomechatronic sculptor to examine the hypothesis that one can obtain enlightenment. (Actualized by Mika Nakano.)

Heralded by The New York Times as “a full-tilt lesbian/bi-curious/genderqueer/Shakespearean comedy for everyone,” Collective Rage: A Play in 5 Betties follows five different women named Betty as they collide at the intersection of anger, sex, and the “Thea-Tah.” Betty is rich; Betty is lonely; Betty’s busy working on her truck; Betty wants to talk about love, but Betty needs to hit something; and Betty keeps using a small hand mirror to stare into parts of herself she’s never examined.
The Moment Was Now is a new musical play that takes place in post-civil war Baltimore in 1869, a turning point in US history where America almost did the right thing. Echoing the current moment, the play centers around the impassioned search for unity between the dynamic historic leaders of powerful constituencies during Reconstruction. The conflicts and possibilities unfold at a fictional meeting convened by Frederick Douglass and are elevated by the musical and spoken word format. Hope hangs in the balance at this most unusual gathering of suffragette, abolitionist Susan B.
Party like it’s 1599! Join fellow Shakespeare fans for an evening of Elizabethan delights. Enjoy themed food and drink, carnivalesque entertainment, and silent auction while celebrating the inauguration of BSF’s one-of-a-kind early modern stage in the heart of Hampden. Guests are encouraged to dress in black tie or their Elizabethan finest. Gala: 7-10pm; Afterparty and Bawdy Good Fun: 9pm-Midnight. Proceeds to benefit BSF’s ongoing programs in Baltimore City.
