THE POES OF BALTIMORE/ LAFAYETTE BICENTENNIAL EXHIBIT
Long before Edgar Allan Poe was born, the Poe family was noted in Baltimore for their service in the Revolution and the War of 1812. A wheel-maker and later Assistant Deputy Quartermaster General, known to George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette, Edgar Allan Poe's grandfather, David Poe Sr., gave much for the cause of Liberty alongside his wife, Elizabeth Cairnes Poe. Learn about the Poe family’s contribution and how their service made possible their famous grandson’s Literary career.

*Note: the show contains adult material and is intended for mature audiences* McDaniel College’s theatre arts department presents a depiction of Moisés Kaufman’s thrilling drama based on the true events surrounding the downfall of the renowned playwright and author Oscar Wilde. Michael Chamberlin serves as the guest director. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students, seniors (over 60), active military members and veterans, as well as those with a McDaniel College ID.

From East, Like the Sun asks how we can break the cycle of economic and social forces that compel immigrants and the children of immigrants to leave their homes and families in search of security.

The play follows two generations in two families (and one 19th century ghost) searching for the motherlode - whether it’s gold, hidden treasure, or stable housing in the impossible market of Marin County, California

One of today’s most powerful Brazilian voices, Luedji Luna presents her tour “Bom Mesmo É Estar Debaixo D’água Deluxe.” In this concert, Luedji combines sound styles from her native Salvador, Bahia, with neo-soul, R&B, and jazz. She presents recently released repertoire from her album of the same name, as well as revisits other popular hits from earlier in her career.
