An exhibit featuring artwork created by juried artists during Paint It! Ellicott City, an annual plein air paint-out in Ellicott City’s historic district. The juror for this year’s exhibit is award-winning landscape artist Lynn Mehta, who will offer remarks and present juror awards at the virtual reception on June 18.

Instrument Making Workshop
Journey back in time through the Ocarina, a type of clay flute produced across Central and South America for thousands of years. The unique sounds and imaginative shapes of these instruments awaken memories of our common ancestry, recalling the songs of the birds and animals that inhabit our most sacred natural landscapes.

The Big Show On Stage is a chance for our members to show off their talent in front of the Creative Alliance community. We know there are many hidden (and not so hidden) talents in our member community and expect performances ranging from song, variety arts, poetry readings, full band performances, amazing individual talents and so much more. You must be a member to register to perform. Performances should be one selection, up to 5 minutes in maximum length.

Join Frederick Arts Council for a virtual conversation with Baltimore-based artist Lisa Dillin and Danielle O'Steen, Curator at The Kreeger Museum in Washington D.C., on Friday, August 6th at 5 pm. Dillin currently has a new show, entitled “Sorry We Missed You,” on view at Frederick Arts Council's 5 E. 2nd Street Art Center.
"Sorry We Missed You" makes tangible the emotional quality of the sustained isolation that characterizes this time.
Featuring Esther Krinitz's Holocaust survival story exquisitely told through 36 hand-embroidered works, this exhibition pays tribute to humanity's long history, past and current, of unjustly persecuted innocents and the dream of a world at peace. A preamble to Esther's fabric collages include South African Truth and Reconciliation embroidered testimonies, work gathered from Lily Yeh's partnership with Rwandan Tutsi genocide survivors, and more.
