This memorial event, featuring contemporary poetry and a short historical talk, will honor the memory of thousands of people sold from Baltimore in the interstate slave trade between 1808, when the transatlantic slave trade was outlawed, and 1864, when Maryland abolished slavery.

Rust & Royalty Fashion Exhibition is a community-centred fashion and art exhibition taking place at the historic Light Street Pavilion in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. This free public event brings together Black designers, minority-owned brands, wearable art artists, stylists, and local makers for a curated experience that celebrates sustainable fashion, handcrafted design, and creative entrepreneurship.

Meet the artist in a relaxed, casual environment. Big Bang Baby transforms ancestral divinity, folklore, and science into a radiant universe of light, color, and controlled chaos. At its center are fantastical feminine figures creating universes and experiencing their own divinity. Inspired by Afro-Dominican spiritual traditions of “carrying a mystery,” as well as Native Taíno Zemi goddesses, LUSMERLIN celebrates the gift of spiritual presence and creation in women.
Art with a Heart (AWAH) is 26 years BOLD and still coloring outside the lines! To commemorate this milestone, the nonprofit will host a hands-on community art project at its social enterprise store, HeARTwares.
Don’t miss this timely and emotionally resonant documentary exploring the crisis of trust in American medicine. Following the overarching issues of greed and profits over people, the film highlights patient suffering, clinician burnout, betrayal and the struggles of those on the frontlines of care. With a sharp focus on systemic dysfunction and a multitude of deeply personal stories, the film raises awareness, provokes dialogue and inspires change at every level of healthcare.
Drawing from a remarkable gift to the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education, Upon Thy Gates brings together 73 mezuzahs collected by Elaine K. and Norman Winik from Jewish communities around the world. Each mezuzah embodies a distinct community’s aesthetic sensibilities and local influences while remaining tied to a shared tradition of marking and making home.

Join us on March 27, 2026 for an out-of-this-world experience at this year’s Play It Forward, Port Discovery’s signature fundraising gala that celebrates the importance of purposeful learning with play. This adults-only celebration will be filled with magic and wonder, featuring a seated dinner, dancing, and entertainment. We invite our wide network of supporters, advocates, and mission-aligned playmakers for a night in support of Port Discovery as a community learning hub, teaching museum, and educational playspace for all.
