Scorching and lyrical, Baltimore guitarist, singer and songwriter Cris Jacobs spent ten successful years melding funk, folk, bluegrass and rock in the band The Bridge. These days as a solo act Jacobs has deepened even further into soul, country, blues, gospel and rock & roll. Grab a drink and sit down to an evening of music and conversation illuminating Jacobs’ musical story and vast range of influences. Hosted by Brooks Long.

A Scavenger Hunt Exhibit Series
From visionary anime auteur Masaaki Yuasa, who takes over the festival this year with two other selections – the new rom-com Night is Short, Walk on Girl and outré classic Mind Game – comes a hallucinogenic-but-family-friendly take on the classic fairy tale of the little mermaid who falls in love with mankind, and then comes ashore to join a dysfunctional middle school rock band and propel them to fame.

Hear Shostakovich's tremendous Symphony No. 5, which received an overwhelming public response and half hour standing ovation at its premiere.
Unicorns in the Snow (Julia Vering) and minthill (Angela Saylor) reunite to collaborate on a tour of their experimental works to Baltimore's Sidebar June 7th. Unicorns in the Snow is Vering’s 15 year multimedia performance project that incorporates minimal dark sounds, affected accordion, interactive projections of stop motion animation and cryptic impressions inspired by hospice social work.

The third concert of Festival Baltimore presents two iconic works for two pianists and two percussionists, performed by internationally acclamed artists — Bela Bartók’s earth-shattering Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion; and out-of-this-world Music for a Summer Evening (Makrokosmos III) by George Crumb, for two amplified pianos and percussion.
Nights on the Fringe is a weekend-long curated cabaret hosted by Charm City Fringe at 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 9, at Baltimore Theatre Project. Bringing a variety of different performing artists together for two very different, very awesome nights of performance.
