Chamber Music on the Hill, in residence at McDaniel College, presents the McDaniel College Faculty Brass Quintet performing classical and pop music favorites from Beethoven to the Beatles.
The McDaniel College Faculty Brass Quintet includes music lecturers Nick Reider on trumpet and Lynne Griffith on French horn, and trombonist David Motter, an adjunct lecturer in social work, as well as trumpeter Todd Butler and tuba player Jeff Hiner.
Sundays At Three Chamber Music Series, Columbia Maryland presents Brian Ganz in an all Chopin program. Widely regarded as among the leading pianists of his generation, Mr. Ganz, has performed to acclaim internationally and throughout the United States. Mr. Ganz is a member of the faculty of Peabody Institute and artist-in residence at St. Mary's College. Program details are on the Sundays At Three website.

One of the country’s foremost woodwind artists, Chris Vadala is in demand as a jazz/classical performer and educator. He has appeared on more than 100 recordings to date, as well as innumerable jingle sessions, film and TV scores, performing on all the saxophones, flutes, and clarinets. This concert will feature Mr. Vadala on a variety of woodwinds in collaboration with the Howard Community College faculty jazz rhythm section. The program will consist of familiar jazz standards as well as a few new compositions and arrangements.

World Music Ensemble E-Do is an ensemble of six talented musicians who combine traditional and contemporary rhythms with consummate ease. The group’s name comes from the first name of King Sejong the Great, a towering figure during Korea’s ancient Joseon Dynasty.
The philosophical background for E-Do's music is to create music for the modern era that can be enjoyed by all and to share it freely in Korea and beyond.
Peabody String Sinfonia performs works by Bach, Elgar, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and other stunning music for full string ensemble.
The Peabody String Sinfonia is a student-led conductorless ensemble that usually performs in the community at medical facilities, residential treatment programs, and prisons.

Had there been a planetarium in 19th-century Galicia, or a kosher deli in Depression-era Kentucky, Andy Statman's music might have been playing in the background. Meandering through time, geography, and culture, Statman and his inimitable hybrid sound move freely among the before, the after, and the present.
dauda, saxophonist and rapper, combines jazz with hip-hop and traditional African music for a modern take on Black American Music.
dauda was raised in Baltimore where he was groomed by the city’s leading saxophonists: Carl Grubbs, Tim Green, Jamal Moore, Kevin Robinson, Jackie Blake, Craig Alston, Whit Williams and Dr. Chris Ford. By age thirteen, dauda was a band leader with awards from Baltimore’s City Council, A Good Black Man Inc. and the Baltimore Jazz Alliance. Alongside his mentors, he performed in New York City, Washington D.C. and Baltimore.
Under the direction of Kyle Engler, senior lecturer in music, this concert includes performances by several small music ensembles.
According to Engler, “We work on classical and traditional styles of chamber music, such as piano trio, as well as vocal and obbligato pieces, in addition to vocal acapella, mixed ensemble and piano four-hands music.”

Houston–based accordion ace and zydeco groover returns to the Patterson for a hard-hitting dance party! A son of the Louisiana cultural Diaspora, Ruben Paul Moreno grew up in East Houston and started playing at age ten when he was thrown on stage with his uncle, the zydeco great Leroy Thomas. Ruben then went on to tour with Roy Carrier and Clifton Chenier. Tonight Ruben brings his full band for a night of great, high-energy Louisiana dance music, which Ruben infuses with accents of blues and R&B. The dance floor is wide open.
Porch Setters Union is an alt/country/bluegrass band based in Baltimore Maryland. Vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Andy Belt is joined by his Black Friday bandmate, Shawn Heming, on mandolin, Warren Boes of All Mighty Senators and Boister fame on lead guitar, Dave Markowitz of the Bridge on bass, and Bald Mountain Band alum Tony Bonta on banjo and Jon Ackerman on dobro.
From Irish step dancing lessons to puppetry and from traditional Irish food to authentic Celtic music, there is something for everyone at the 44th Annual Maryland Irish Festival set to take place on November 10-12, 2017 at the Timonium Fairgrounds from 6-11 p.m. on Friday; 12 noon – 11 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday from 12 noon - 6 p.m. There will be plenty of traditional Irish food & drink, internationally recognized musical groups, children’s activities, cultural exhibits from Ireland, festive contests, a speaker series and various vendors all contained in the spacious Cow Palace.
McDaniel College students perform vocal and instrumental solos of musical selections spanning from classical to contemporary.
Baltimore's favorite gypsy jazz group, Hot Club of Baltimore, led by guitarist Michael Joseph Harris, will team up with up-and-coming Brazilian Saxophonist Michel Nirenberg, here in the US for a fall performing tour in the regions. He and Harris will play lively tunes from the gypsy jazz repertoire of Europe as well as the infectious , energetic music styles from Brazil, recalling Harris' alter ego as a Latin jazz guitarist in venues such as Bossa Bistro (DC). The band will include the highly talented Sami Arefin (guitar) and Shawn Simon (bass).
