Attend a workshop to learn about applying for a Rubys Grant as well as tips and strategies for preparing a strong application. This is an opportunity to ask questions in-person with the Program Director and strengthen your grant-seeking skills.

JMM 2019 Annual Meeting
Join Ambassador Stuart Eizenstat as he shares a behind-the-scenes account of President Carter: The White House Years, a book 40 years in the making and an intimate, first-hand comprehensive history of the Carter Administration. Ambassador Eizenstat had a front row seat to the challenges faced during this turbulent time in the 1970s as Chief White House Domestic Policy Adviser.
SCREENING: The Rest I Make Up
Maria Irene Fornes is one of America's greatest playwrights and most influential teachers, but many know her only as the ex-lover of writer and social critic Susan Sontag. The visionary Cuban-American dramatist constructed astonishing worlds onstage, writing over 40 plays and winning nine Obie Awards.
Queens Girl in the World: In Community
In partnership with The Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture, Everyman Theatre presents a special "In Community" performance of the first act of Queens Girl in the World by Caleen Sinnette Jennings. Special Evening Access to the Museum (5:30pm-7pm)
Free First Thursday
Visitors can enjoy free admission to the entire museum on the first Thursday of every month. A collection highlights tour takes place at 11 a.m. - explore the galleries with a member of our staff, hear the stories behind the artifacts on display and learn about Maryland’s rich history. Groups of 10 or more people must book the tour ahead of time.

Beauty stops us in our tracks. It makes us pause, look, consider. Sometimes it overwhelms us. We are often told art should aspire to this standard and be proportionate, symmetrical, naturalistic, and orderly. But what of work that is designed to revolt and terrify? Across subSaharan Africa, artists working across a range of states, societies, and cultures deliberately created artwork that violated conceptions of beauty, symmetry, and grace—both ours and theirs. Commissioned by the BMA, the New York-based collective, DIS, debuts a video series on the wide-reaching impact of the 2008 financial crisis. The series contemplates the future of money, income inequality, and the uncertain economic prospects of Millennials.
Jazz on a Summer's Day: Film
Bert Stern’s documentary record of the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival is often hailed as one of the first and most influential live concert films. An incredible collection of classic live performances, Jazz on a Summer’s Day captures Louis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk, Chuck Berry, Mahalia Jackson, and many others, including some “new talent” that went on to become jazz legends. Several of the performances are among the treasures of filmed music; all of them, whatever their musical merit, are filmed with a rare artistry, a rare attention to making images of music that are themselves musical.

The Maryland Half Marathon & 5K Run/Walk has raised more than $4 million for cancer research with 100 percent of the net proceeds benefitting the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.
