Their interpretation of Beethoven’s taut, enigmatic Serioso Quartet reveals the revolutionary spirit that defined the First Viennese School. A century later, Anton Webern’s concentrated Five Movements carries this innovative tradition forward - his crystalline miniatures distilling Viennese expressivity through modernist techniques.

Also featured is Trittico, written for William Revelli and his University of Michigan Symphony Band, The Eternal Light, which remembers the self-sacrifice of the four U.S.
