UMBC Jazz Ensemble with Allison Miller
The UMBC Jazz Ensemble is joined in concert by New York City-based drummer/composer/teacher Allison Miller, who engages her deep roots in improvisation as a vehicle to explore all music. Described by critics as a charismatic and rhythmically propulsive drummer with melodic sensibility, Miller has been named “Top 20 Jazz Drummers” in Downbeat Magazine and her composition, Otis Was a Polar Bear, is on NPR’s list of The 200 Greatest Songs by 21st Century Women. Miller is Monterey Jazz Festival’s 2019 Artist in Residence, alongside Derrick Hodge.

The Clipper Mill String Quartet is composed of three members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s string sections, violinists Kevin Smith and Ivan Stefanovic and violist Karin Brown. Cellist Dan Levitov is a regular BSO cello section substitute and a member of the Peabody Prep faculty. Free admission to high school students and to younger children accompanied by a paying adult.

22-year-old pianist Aristo Sham, First Prize Winner in the 2018 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, has already dazzled audiences on five continents in countries ranging from Singapore and Argentina, to Slovenia and Morocco, to China and Iceland. He will perform works by Beethoven, Rorem, Debussy and Schumann.

The Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society hosts a concert by The Ingrid Jensen Quintet featuring award-winning Canadian-born sisters Ingrid Jensen on trumpet and Christine Jensen on alto and soprano saxophone Sunday, March 3, 2019, 5 p.m., at the Baltimore Museum of Art.

The "radiant playing" (The Baltimore Sun) of German-Canadian cellist Johannes Moser unites with the refined artistry of Austrian pianist Till Fellner. Together, they juxtapose Beethoven's intimate Op. 102 sonatas, written in 1815, with a varied group of works from a century later.

Mike 'n' Ike will provide the house rhythm section, while Germano's provides a fabulous bar featuring everything from fresh carrot juice to old whiskey, plus fantastic food,, all in a comfortable bar in the heart of Little Italy. Come join host Ian Rashkin (bass) and the rest of the rhythm section to play your favorite jazz standards, and not-so-standards; all instruments and vocalists welcome.

Classical Revolution Baltimore presents: Peabody Battle of the Bands
Young, hungry chamber musicians crowd into The Crown on Wednesday, March 6th for a heated competition and camaraderie. The audience votes and a new royal court of the "Best Classical Bar Musicians" will be crowned.
Competing ensembles include musicians from the Peabody Institute, one of the top destinations for classical music study right in the middle of Baltimore, and frequent performers at Classical Revolution Baltimore.
