Evergreen Museum & Library's popular and eclectic Music at Evergreen concert series returns for its 69th season, presenting live music in the museum's stunning and historic Bakst Theatre.
A native of Shanghai, China, violinist Lun Li won First Prize in the 2021 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, The Paul A. Fish Memorial Prize, the Buffalo Chamber Music Society Prize, and was named John French Violin Chair at YCA. He is also the recent joint winner of First Prize at the Lillian and Maurice Barbash J.S. Bach Competition. Further accolades include winning second prize in Shanghai’s Haydn Chamber Competition, resulting in an invitation to perform at the Helsinki Music Centre Festival.
Maryland Winds is a professional concert band based in Howard County that exists to bring world-class wind band music to the residents of Maryland. Its musicians and conductor, Timothy J. Holtan, perform at the highest levels while sharing their love of music with students, music educators, and enthusiastic audiences through clinics, masterclasses, and public performances on par with the world’s finest performing ensembles.

Hanzhi Wang, the first accordionist in history to win first prize in the New York-based Young Concert Artists competition, will join saxophonist and composer Steven Banks, who also won Young Concert Artists’ first prize on his instrument. Wang and Banks join Candlelight Concert Society through a multidecade partnership between the society and Young Concert Artists. The concert is part of the Candlelight Concert Society’s 50th-anniversary season.
Harpsichordist Paula Maust will perform selections from Elizabeth Turner’s 1756 Lessons for Harpsichord, one of the earliest published collections of music by an Englishwoman. Be part of one of the first audiences to hear these pieces in the 21st century!

Currently a doctoral candidate at the Peabody Conservatory, Willinger performs a program featuring Fanny Mendelssohn's "Easter Sonata" (long attributed to her brother Felix) alongside works of Florence Price, Teresa Carreño, Marie Jaëll-Trautmann, and Marianna Martines.
