When the 18-year-old pianist Yunchan Lim became the youngest ever winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, he launched a global phenomenon, with more than nine million views and counting of his Rach 3 performance conducted by Marin Alsop. Now the BSO Music Director Laureate welcomes Lim to present Rachmaninoff’s stunningly gorgeous Piano Concerto No. 2. Alsop continues her role as a leading champion of American music, presenting the hymn-filled Second Symphony of Ives (a work premiered by her mentor, Leonard Bernstein) along with Carlos Simon’s bluesy AMEN!

System Source’s computer museum displays technology from the inception of computing! From the ancient Antikythera Mechanism dating to the first century BC to the Altair 8800, the early personal computer that Paul Allen and Bill Gates (then a student at Harvard) wrote code for in the mid 1970s, the Computer Museum at the IT firm System Source is a marvelous chronicle of the evolution of the computer. Watch the world’s greatest stories unroll before your eyes! Baltimore’s beloved festival of scrolled panoramas, known as “crankies,” returns for its 10th year of fireside wonder! The festival, the largest of its kind in the country, works with artists to showcase crankies from Baltimore and beyond!
In 2013, a group of jazz players and Korean traditional musicians started to play jam sessions based on traditional Korean folk melodies and shamanistic rhythms, eventually forming SE:UM. The eclectic quintet is composed of saxophonist Hachul Song, trumpeter Jongsang Park, bassist Jaeha Lee, traditional percussionist Minhyeong Lee, and gayageum (twelve-stringed Korean zither) player and music director, Joon Lee.
Dance & Bmore’s Elder Arts Program is a creative space to share music, movement, and memories. This lively virtual jam gives senior citizens room to dance, talk, sing, share stories, and laughs.
