Baltimore’s premier celebration of the literary arts attracts more than 100,000 attendees and showcases the city’s literary scene with renowned and celebrity authors, book signings, panel discussions, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, exhibitors, local writers, live music and gourmet food, beer & wine at the Inner Harbor, along the 400 blocks of Light Street & Key Highway.
The Y in Central Maryland will host a free Family Movie Night at its Y Centers on Friday, September 22. Bring your chairs and blankets, and the Y will pop the popcorn! Movies will be rated PG and may vary by location, so please contact your local Y Center for details. All attendees must register in advance at ymaryland.org/register (search for Family Movie Night).

Tickets are now available for purchase for the 2017 Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs, which benefits the oncology services and patient support programs at GBMC HealthCare. The time-honored annual tradition of steeplechase horse racing and family-friendly fun will take place on Saturday, September 23, at Shawan Downs in Cockeysville, Maryland. This year, we introduce Hats, Horses and Hope as the theme for Legacy Chase to celebrate cancer survivors.
You have been cleared for take-off! Grab the controls of a radio-controlled plane and take to the skies at the annual Charm City Fly In - the largest celebration of radio-controlled flying in Maryland.
Dozens of aviators from the Southwest Area Park (SWAP) Modelers will teach you how to taxi, take off and soar the skies as you guide model planes – some up to 10 feet long - hundreds of feet in the air. When you’re not piloting a plane, witness the aerial maneuvers of the skilled pilots as they dip, flip and bank their planes high overhead in a “Fun Fly Competition.”
Meet animals (and their handlers) who work to bring comfort and protect public safety at hospitals, airports, courthouses, and on the streets. Free outdoor event!

South Baltimore residents are invited to an after-hours open house and tour of the galleries.

Learn about the history of Baltimore Clippers and the role privateers played in the War of 1812; or hear from a crew member what it is like to sail a tall ship today. Dates and times for deck tours are subject to change with short notice.

Grades 9-12: Audition Technique
Prepare and build confidence for auditioning in this class taught by talented and accessible theater professionals, and designed to offer a well-rounded and fun approach to focused skill building. From material selection to the exploration of audition formats, this class defines auditioning as an opportunity to perform. Get ready! *Please Note: There is no class October 21*

The Baltimore Folk Music Society invites you to join in an afternoon of great fun. On the main stage we will present 5 terrific bands:
Nutalusa, Cajun and Zydeco music
Tanzania Ceili Band, Irish music
Will Play for Fish, old-time music
Catonsville Steel Drum Band
Baltimore Barrage Band orchestra, playing a wonderful eclectic mix of music including New Orleans, Klezmer, Balkan and Eastern European, and marching band music.
Charm City Rapper Sword will also be performing. Delight in the the excitement of Soles in Motion Cloggers too!

Last Broadway Live ACT 1 of SEASON!
Act 1 of Broadway Live is a monthly Broadway meet up and open mic for Baltimore youth and families to be creative, make new friends, and learn about Broadway from Pros. Take the stage to perform songs, dance numbers, and scenes from favorite Broadway shows. Parents and youth will gain valuable feedback from industry professionals to build young performers' craft and boost their confidence.
