This summer the PLAY's the thing with summer camps at The Studio! Your child’s imagination will take the spotlight at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company. Each week, kids will explore Shakespeare’s language, create characters, jump into stage combat and clowning and learn confidence and creativity before creating a final staged presentation. Dance of the Nipples | A Breast Cancer Awareness Exhibition
From the 1960s to the 2020s, Baltimore philanthropists Sigmund and Mary Hyman assembled a major collection of American art, with a particular focus on modernists of the Ashcan School. In partnership with BMA curators, the Hymans gifted a carefully selected group of important works to the Museum—a gift completed in 2024 following the passing of Mary Hyman, a longtime Trustee.
Between 1946 and 1953, Henri Matisse created 28 lithographic portraits for Poésies Antillaises (Antillean Poetry), a book of poems by John-Antoine Nau. Published posthumously in 1972, this rare volume remains one of Matisse’s least-known illustrated works.
Born in Annapolis, Maryland, and educated at the Maryland Institute College of Art, artist Louis Fratino got to know well the great strengths and depths of the BMA’s Matisse collection over many years of visits. He was influenced by the French artist, among others, and chose to focus his own work on domestic spaces and intimate portraits.

This scandalous satire begins when two children innocently repeat what they overheard at home, landing their very embarrassed parents in the principal’s office. What follows is a chaotic and hilarious unraveling involving a preacher, a so-called gay exorcism, and a mysterious chicken named Danalana Parmesana.
Featuring three floors of interactive exhibits, hands-on experiences, and entertaining programs - Port Discovery Children's Museum is a space for adults and kids to collaborate, be brave, grow creativity, and so much more. Special moments at the museum turn into lasting memories, and it starts with your visit.
The first Friday of the month June through September the museum will extend its hours to 8pm. From 5pm-8pm admission will be at a discounted rate.
