"The Cordillera of Dreams"

"The Cordillera of Dreams"

Watch in the acclaimed documentary in Carroll County Arts Council's virtual screening room!

After his previous documentaries “Nostalgia for the Light” and “The Pearl Button,” “The Cordillera of Dreams” is the final film in master documentarian Patricio Guzmán’s landscape and memory trilogy. The titular Cordillera refers to the Andes mountain range, a stunning backdrop to the landscape of his home country of Chile. In this poetic documentary, Guzmán explores how the Cordillera acts as a symbol of both Chilean national identity and the country’s tragic political history. Linking together Chile’s past and future, Guzmán’s work rescues his dear country from historical amnesia. His masterful weaving of personal memories and histories with gorgeous cinematography makes this breathtaking documentary a must-see.
