Creative Quest: Art from the Holocaust's 2nd Generation

Howard Community College proudly presents: Creative Quest - Art from the Holocaust's 2nd Generation.

The seven artists in this free exhibition are children of Holocaust survivors. While not experiencing the Holocaust firsthand, children of survivors are nonetheless profoundly affected by it. Featured artists are Trudy Babchak, Coos Hamburger, Micheline Klagsbrun, Miriam Mörsel Nathan, Margot S. Neuhaus, Chaya Schapiro, & Mindy Weisel.

Join us at the opening reception on Sunday, April 5, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., to meet the artists, enjoy a performance of Yiddish music by Judith Geller and a poetry reading by participating artist Coos Hamburger. Refreshments will be served.

The show runs April 5 - May 3. The Rouse Company Foundation Gallery is located in the Horowitz Center for Visual & Performing Arts at HCC. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. - 9:30 daily. The gallery will be closed April 6 - 12.

In conjunction with this exhibition, Howard Community College Jewish Group will host a talk, "Artists from the Holocaust's Second Generation", where the exhibiting artists will discuss how their experiences have influenced their work. This free program takes place on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., in Smith Theater, in the Horowitz Center.
