We are pleased to have Aaron Thacker and Ben Shaver as our artists for the December 8th concert. They are both extremely talented in both voice and piano. We are looking forward to hearing some of their favorite music which will include a mixture of languages and styles.
Aaron Thacker is an accomplished pianist, who has performed extensively in the realm of Opera. He has served as rehearsal pianist for North Carolina Opera, Baltimore Lyric Opera, Peabody Conservatory, and The Ford's Theater. He has appeared on NPR with famous tenor Noah Stewart and played for many opera singers in the country, including Christine Goerke, Anthony Dean Griffey, Nathan Gunn, Soloman Howard, Denyce Graves, and Steven LaBrie. He is currently full-time faculty at specialty high school, George Washington Carver Center for the Arts and Technology in Towson, MD.
Praised for his "positively powerful sound" according to D. C. Metro Theater Arts, Ben Shaver entices his audiences and critics by his vocal prowess and acting. Mr. Shaver made his debut with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Carnegie Hall as Pecus from Arthur Honegger's Jeanne d'Arc au Bucher. Ben received his Bachelor's of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He is the Director of Music and Geneva Presbyterian Church in Potomac, MD and St. Timothy's School in Stevenson, MD. He enjoys returning to Italy annually to teach English as a second language through songs, games, and theater with a company he co-founded in 2016. Ben and Aaron, both being pianists and singers, will be trading off with one another, throughout the concert! It will be a mixture of their favorite arts songs and arias in English, French, German, and Italian
Hope you can join us for this concert, some fellowship and good food following the music. It is free and open to the public so, bring your friends and neighbors. (We do take up a free-will offering.)
