Go with Mixolo - An Elegant Rendezvous with Scott Patterson

Explore the alien landscape of 25th century music with composer, pianist and Baker Artist Awardee, Scott Patterson. His compositions for solo piano pulse with future forward melodies that incorporate the classical, soul and rock music of our present day and generations to come. No plus-one? No problem. You can sit with us.

Scott’s luxuriant compositions will be performed on a gorgeous Knabe piano crafted in Baltimore by the Wm. Knabe & Co. 140 years ago. This will be the Knabe’s official debut at The Peale Center since relocating from the Baltimore Museum of Industry in 2018.

Bring a pillow! This is not a stiff piano concert where you sit in a hard chair until your tushi goes numb. Instead, grab a piece of floor, lay your pillow down and settle in for a night of music, wonderment and imagination. Chairs will be provided to those that wish to be seated on a chair instead of a pillow on the floor.

Enjoy a Champagne Toast with Scott Patterson at 7:00 p.m. or come for just the performance. Doors will open for all ticket holders at 7:30 p.m. The performance will begin at 8:00 p.m.

ABOUT “AN ELEGANT RENDEZVOUS” SERIES:

Inspired by an 1814 advertisement for The Peale, where Rembrandt Peale called his museum “an elegant Rendezvous for taste, curiosity and leisure,” this new series features Baltimore area creators and innovators sharing their work and stories.

Tickets for this event are also available to the general public at: https://www.thepealecenter.org/ and https://www.afrohouse.org/.

ABOUT THE VENUE:

From the Peale Center website: "The Peale Center for Baltimore History and Architecture, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is restoring the oldest museum building in the United States in partnership with the City of Baltimore. Through its programs, the Peale Center aims to illuminate authentic stories of Baltimore’s people and places, while reinventing the urban museum in the creative and innovative spirit of its founder, artist Rembrandt Peale."

RAMPS AND ACCESSIBILITY: The event will be held on the second floor of The Peale Center in its historic Picture Gallery, which requires climbing 17 steps. While there is a ramped entrance through the Peale's garden and an accessible restroom on the ground floor, The Peale Center is still fundraising to install an elevator and make the building more accessible. We apologize for this inconvenience. The Peale Center looks forward to reopening as a fully accessible building after the interior renovations are complete.

PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: In the heart of downtown Baltimore, The Peale Center is easy to reach via public transportation or by car! On-street parking is free after 6pm and all day on Sunday, and there are numerous parking lots and garages in the area. Find them on Google Maps or Apple Maps. By public transportation, we're near stops for City Hall, the War Memorial, and Farmers’ Market on the Purple, Orange, Red, Blue, Yellow CityLink lines and the free Green Charm City Circulator Route, as well as LocalLink routes 54, 56, 154, 67, 78, 80 and Express BusLink routes 105, 115, 160, 154, 164. The Peale is a five-block walk from the Shot Tower station of the Metro subway. Find more information on parking and visiting the Peale here: https://www.thepealecenter.org/visiting-the-peale

DRESS: There is no dress code, so please wear whatever is comfortable.

REFUND POLICY: Tickets may be refunded 48 hours before the event.
