The Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House’s Shank Lecture Series Presents: Bald Eagles at the Conowingo Dam

Army Lieutenant Colonel, Craig “Jake” Jachens, lives right here in Havre de Grace and works at Aberdeen Proving Ground for General Dynamics supporting the US Army.

Following in the footsteps of his Grandfather and Father, who were both nationally celebrated photographers, Jake has continued their work for over 40 years capturing images of all types from his extensive travels around the world.

He specializes in any subject that’s a challenge to photograph such as Grand Prix auto races, Hummingbirds in flight, and as a season ticket holder for 30 years; Green Bay Packer football games at Lambeau Field just to name a few.

His recent works concentrate on birds, specifically Bald Eagles which he photographs at the Conowingo Dam in Darlington, Maryland on the Susquehanna River in addition to areas around Harford County.
