ROAR for Kids
Lions ROAR, elephants ROAR, tigers ROAR… and you, too, can ROAR for Kids with Kennedy Krieger! Join us on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Kennedy Krieger Institute’s ROAR for Kids, a 5K road run and low-mileage walk for individuals of all ages. The event will be jungle-themed and take place at Oregon Ridge Park in Cockeysville, Md. Families, friends and supporters will run, walk and “ROAR” to raise awareness and funds for research and programs that help kids at the Institute. Since its inception in 2005, the event has raised nearly $3 million dollars for Kennedy Krieger Institute.
The fun-filled morning features a 5K run, low-mileage fun walk, and a family festival among the lush surroundings at Oregon Ridge Park. After stampeding, walking or cheering on the participants, attendees, who are encouraged to dress up as their favorite animal, will enjoy the Jungle Festival, a family event, featuring music and outdoor activities for kids of all ages, including a coloring station, bean-bag toss, oversized croquet, parachute games and the always-popular Mascot Challenge! Awards will also be given to top finishers in age categories as well as the most spirited costumes.
Participants and teams may go online to register and build personal fundraising pages—all in support of the Kennedy Krieger program of their choice, or support the Institute as a whole by selecting “General Institute Support.” Feeling more like a sloth than a cheetah but still want to support the kids at Kennedy Krieger? Interested participants can opt to Snore for ROAR and support the cause online while sleeping in!
