The Ingrid Jensen Quintet Concert Hosted by the Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society

The Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society hosts a concert by The Ingrid Jensen Quintet featuring award-winning Canadian-born sisters Ingrid Jensen on trumpet and Christine Jensen on alto and soprano saxophone Sunday, March 3, 2019, 5 p.m., at the Baltimore Museum of Art.

Christine was voted “Rising Star – Soprano Sax” in the Downbeat Critics Poll 2017, while Ingrid has consistently been rated one of the Top 10 Jazz Trumpet Players by both the Downbeat Critics and Readers polls for the last decade. Their 2018 album, Infinitude, was nominated for Canada’s Juno Award for Jazz Album of the Year-Group.

Ingrid has performed with a multi-generational cast of jazz legends ranging from Clark Terry to Esperanza Spalding. Her own bands have garnered glowing reviews and a loyal worldwide fan base. Jensen is also a dedicated jazz educator, having taught trumpet at the University of Michigan and Baltimore’s Peabody Conservatory. Most recently, Jensen was named an artist-in-residence at the 2018 Monterey Jazz Festival.

In addition to the Jensen sisters, the Quintet features Gary Versace on piano, Marcos Varela on bass, and Kush Abadey on drums.

Individual tickets for the Ingrid Jensen Quintet concert are $45 general admission and $43 for BMA members and seniors over 65. Student tickets are $10 and can be purchased on the day of the concert only. Information is available at baltimorechamberjazz.org, on Facebook, or by calling (410) 385-5888.
