Pat Bianchi Quintet Concert Hosted by Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society

The Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society announces a change in the headliner for its concert at the Baltimore Museum of Art on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at 5 p.m. Now leading the much-anticipated new year opener is renowned jazz organist Pat Bianchi and his Quintet featuring Paul Bollenback.

Currently Bianchi has the No. 2 jazz album in the United States. The album, In the Moment, features an array of special guests including Bollenback andPat Martino, the late Kevin Mahogany, Joe Locke, Peter Bernstein, Byron Landham, and Carmen Intorre, Jr. A two-time Grammy nominee, Bianchi is the winner of DownBeat’s2016 Rising Star poll. Since then he has established himself as one of the most sought-after organists on the scene today. His harmonic prowess, rhythmic intensity, and versatility on the instrument are unsurpassed.

Bianchi is accompanied by Paul Bollenback, guitar, Alex Norris, trumpet, Adam Niewood, saxophone, and Carmen Intorre Jr., drums. For Norris, the Baltimore concert is a homecoming. He grew up in Columbia, Maryland and taught at Towson University from the late 1990’s to early 2000’s.

Individual tickets for the Pat Bianchi Quintet concert are $45 general admission and $43 for BMA members and seniors over 65. Additional concerts in the 2018-2019 BCJS series include The Ingrid Jensen Quintet (March 3, 2019), Bill O’Connell’s Latin Jazz All-Stars (April 7, 2019) and the Christian Sands Trio (May 5, 2019).
