A.R.T., THE WOMEN OF THREE CHAIRS: WOMEN SONGWRITERS & JAZZ COMPOSERS

A.R.T., THE WOMEN OF THREE CHAIRS: WOMEN SONGWRITERS & JAZZ COMPOSERS

“Women have composed and created incredible jazz from the very beginning, many of whom were unsung and/or unappreciated.” – Theresa Sise.

The Women of Three Chairs return to Germano’s on March 9, to showcase a quilt of musical stories written about women, by female songwriters and jazz composers. During the live, music and theatrical performance show, expressions of ?music are carefully woven-using storytelling and clever compositions? by the three vocalists-who share perspectives on life, love, comedy, ?tragedy, mystery, heartbreak; poetry and ?a little politics, (as they see it). Three Chairs will take the audience on an unforgettable journey through song. So, Pull up a chair!

ABOUT THREE CHAIRS... ?NOT YOUR ORDINARY MUSIC PERFORMANCE,

but life, told through music. Developed over coffee and ?conversation, by three vocalist friends: Audrey Shakir, Renée Collins Georges and Theresa Sise, the concept of THREE CHAIRS stems from the diversity and colorful life stories of the three women of different ages, voices and musical backgrounds.

THE WOMEN OF THREE CHAIRS ARE:

“Audrey Shakir is one of the greatest bebop singers in the world today, a talent with a thrilling voice, sure to send elation through the audience.” –Wynton Marsalis, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

"Whether she is performing as a soloist, a duo, or in an 18-piece big band setting, Renée Georges' approach and delivery of the song captures your ear.” –Ellen Williams Carter, Morning Brew, WPFW 89.3 FM, Washington, DC

“Theresa Sise, who has been traveling up from Annapolis, takes the reigns for “Take the A Train” with a lush voice that sounds bred for jazz, full one moment, fading out at just the right time.” –Dickson Mercer, News Post, Frederick MD
