NYC artist makes her Baltimore debut

American pianist CHRISTINE WU has performed on stages throughout the U.S. and Europe, in venues including Lincoln Center and Merkin Hall, (New York), the Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), Benaroya Hall (Seattle), Teatro San Rocco (Seregno), Petit Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona) and Théâtre du Châtelet (Paris).

Christine has won top prizes in the Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition (Italy), the Chautauqua Institute Piano Competition, the Washington International Competition, the American International Paderewski Piano Competition, and the Fite Family National Piano Competition.

Christine has performed in music festivals across North America and Europe, including at the Chautauqua Institute, the Leipzig International Mendelssohn-Akademie, Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, Aspen, PianoTexas, and Bowdoin International Music Festivals. Upcoming projects include a debut album to be recorded by Blue Griffin Recording, featuring works by Schubert, Liszt, and Schumann, as well as a second album to be produced by the Sheva Collection.

Christine was born and raised in Troy, Michigan where her formative training began with Mary Siciliano and Logan Skelton. Upon graduating high school, she enrolled at the Juilliard School where she studied with Julian Martin and Choong-Mo Kang. After graduating with her Bachelor of Music, she completed her Master of Music degree with Hung-Kuan Chen at Juilliard, where she also was a teaching fellow in the Keyboard Studies department. Currently, Christine is enrolled in the prestigious Doctor of Musical Arts program at the Yale School of Music, where her teachers have included Peter Frankl, Christopher Elton and Peter Serkin. She has a graduate teaching assistantship in Music History/Analysis, as well as a fellowship in private piano instruction
