Sefaradi Kirtan: Devotional Song (Creative Alliance at B'nai Israel)

Sefaradi Kirtan: Devotional Song (Creative Alliance at B'nai Israel)

Event location: 27 Lloyd St, Baltimore, MD 21202 (right near Attman’s Delicatessen and the Jewish Museum)

PARKING: There is ample free parking near B'nai Israel. You can park for free in the lot across from the temple, on Lloyd Street, on in the lot at the former Lenny's Deli at Lombard and Central or at Attman's Deli.

Merging Jewish devotional chants from across the Sefaradi world (Jewish culture with roots on the Iberian peninsula) with the South Asian tradition of Kirtan, the group tonight, led by Rabbi Haim Ovadia who was born in Jerusalem to an Iraqi family, will reach for spiritual heights at this communal performance. Expect both performance and engagement to fill the soul.

This participatory concert will blur the lines between audience and performers, as the musical energy is shared by the voices and bodies of all who are present.

Featuring Rabbi Haim Ovadia (Magen David Congregation), Dan Nadel (flamenco guitar, music direction) Arun Ramamurthy (violin), Rohan Prabhudesai (harmonium), and Ehren Hansen (tabla)
