Myth vs. Reality: The Maryland Jew Bill in Historical Context

“An Act to extend to the sect of people professing the Jewish religion the same rights and privileges that are enjoyed by Christians,” also known as “The Jew Bill,” is one of the most important pieces of legislation passed in the state of Maryland relating to the Jewish community. Passed in 1826, it enabled Jews for the first time to hold public office. Join us as we hear from Dr. Goldstein about his new research on the Bill.

Following, join us for a book signing of On Middle Ground.
