Admission is free with museum entry, which is $15.95 for individuals two and up. Members and children under two enter free.

Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and legacy through fun, educational activities at Port Discovery’s “I Have a Dream Weekend.” Experience African-American history and heritage through interactive programs and performances designed to educate, inspire and help children understand the impact Martin Luther King, Jr. made on America and the world. Educational activities are planned from 10AM to 5PM on Saturday, January 14, from 12PM to 5PM on Sunday, January 15, and from 9:30AM to 5PM on Monday, January 16.

  • Saturday, January 13 | 10AM – 5PM : Join along as The Kindersinger sings Happy Birthday to Martin Luther King, Jr., learn about the important history of African Americans in baseball with Negro League Baseball, and create Doves of Peace in our StudioWorkshop. Also learn about African American Inventors, join in interactive story times that teach children short lessons about Martin Luther King, Jr., create a quilt square that you can take home with the Baltimore African American Quilters, and meet and learn about animals with Wildlife Adventures.
  • Sunday, January 14 | Noon– 5PM: Learn about the important history of African Americans in baseball with Negro League Baseball, create Doves of Peace in our StudioWorkshop, and learn about African American Inventors. Join in interactive story times that teach children short lessons about Martin Luther King, Jr., create a quilt square that you can take home with the Baltimore African American Quilters, and meet and learn about animals with Wildlife Adventures. Plus enjoy our early literacy program Mother Goose on the Loose®, explore music and movement through Jingle Jangle Music Time, and join in music and dancing with Mr. Don’s music.
  • Monday, January 15 | 9:30AM – 5PM : Don’t miss a special Living Museum where children from Baltimore’s Northwood Elementary School portray several important African American individuals throughout history.
