Homewood by Candlelight

Homewood by Candlelight

This rare opportunity to experience Johns Hopkins University's Homewood Museum at night features candlelit period rooms, Federal era-inspired holiday decorations, live strings music, special exhibitions, and more.

Decorated for the holidays with garlands and boxwood, Homewood exudes a festive spirit that is best witnessed at this annual open house, when glittering candlelight throughout the period furnished rooms makes the 1801 historic mansion appear as it might have in early 19th century Baltimore. The event offers live strings music, a wide variety of holiday gifts in the museum shop, eggnog and cookies in the wine cellar, and the stunning special exhibition As Precious as Gold: A History of Tea Caddies from the Bramble Collection, on view through December 30.
