Baltimore Annex Theater closes their 2016-17 season with The King of Howard St., an original play about the lives, dreams and deprivations of the formerly homeless writer, Housing Rights Advocate Anthony Williams. Adapted from the writer’s journals by company member Ren Pepitone, this will be the first theater production in the multi-use community hub Le Mondo, an artist-owned and operated space that Annex will soon be calling home.

Kicking off the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy's Summer in the Squares series in 2017: the great Rhonda Robinson Jazz Trio! Rhonda is a Baltimore-based jazz vocalist/flutist and performs all over the Baltimore-Washington region. Join us for a fun evening of FREE great jazz at the Mount Vernon Place - West Square.

Robert O’Hara’s semi-biographical subversive comedy tells the story of Sutter, who is on an outrageous odyssey through his childhood home, his church, dive bars, motel rooms, and even nursing homes. O’Hara weaves together scenes, sermons, sketches, and daring meta-theatrics to create a kaleidoscope that interconnects to portray growing up gay and black.

Charm City Ballet presents its original production, Aladdin. After nearly two years of bringing original choreography, talented dancers and visual splendor to audiences, CCB presents its newest ballet, Aladdin. Founders and choreographers, Peter Commander and Rebecca Friedman are 2009 Goucher dance major graduates who have brought together an eclectic mix of local dancers to perform in this lively version of the familiar tale. Since April 15, 2017, a group of U.S. veterans from all branches of armed services have been exploring the subjects of peace and war with CSC Teaching Artists in the Studio at the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company. Now they are ready to take the stage. On Sunday, June 11, at 7pm, they will share not only the works of playwrights they have studied these last 10 weeks, but also expressions of their own experiences.
Festival Baltimore is a first classical music festival in Baltimore area created specifically to share the unique experience of hearing collections of works of the greatest classical composers of the past and present in their entirety. It is a rare opportunity to hear the complete works for a particular chamber ensemble or solo instrument within one night performed by the same artist. Our festival provides a sequence of such nights with a wide range of styles and types of works!
