2017 CityLit Festival
CityLit Project announces its 14th Annual CityLit Festival, to take place on Saturday, April 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at the University of Baltimore's William H. Thumel Sr. Business Center at 11 West Mt. Royal Avenue.
The writing of naturalist John Muir, translations of Gaelic poetry, the Hebrew alphabet and 19th-century American spirituals are the inspiration for these enchanting and sophisticated sets from award-winning American composers.
Each piece is a world unto itself, created from each composer's singular musical vocabulary and intensely personal interpretation of the text.

Johns Hopkins University's Homewood Museum will present Sumpter Priddy, a decorative arts scholar, who will discuss "The Rediscovery of Presidential Cabinetmaker William Worthington (1775-1839) of Anne Arundel and Montgomery County, Maryland."

Evergreen's John and Alice Garrett, collectors and patrons of art, established life-long friendships with several of the artists they supported, including Miguel Covarrubias, Herbert Haseltine, and Léon Bakst. While their collection reflects the couple’s years spent abroad, a result of John’s diplomatic postings, it was Alice’s ardent enthusiasm for the arts that was the driving force in its formation and development.
