Students in the Maryland Institute College of Art’s (MICA) Exhibition Development Seminar (EDS) present “American Made: Mass Production/Mass Incarceration,” an exhibition and reading room that showcases photography, zines, video and other visual art forms produced by current and former prisoners that examines concepts of mass production and forced labor in prisons.
The exhibition opens with a reception and artist talk on Saturday, April 29, at 6 p.m., and runs through Saturday, May 27, at Maryland Art Place, 218 W Saratoga Street.
Kennedy Krieger Institute will once again bring the community together for its annual fundraiser now called ROAR for Kids, presented by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. Families, friends and supporters will come together to run, walk and gather with a united “ROAR” to raise awareness and funds for research and 16 different programs to help kids at the Institute.

Due to the success of her 2016 IJD, Global Rhythms show, the charismatic vocalist returns to Germano's to sing a tapestry of timeless rhythms from around the world -arrangements of melodies ranging from the blues to Bossa and from swing to salsa, as well as a few of her own. With each rendering, a musical soundscape of the song and its composer(s) is created for the audience. Accompanied by a section of outstanding players she calls the Georjazz Quartet (GQ).
