ARTISTIC DIRECTOR DIANNA CUATTO’S FIFTEENTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION 2017-2018:
Our piano trio celebrates the Classical, Romantic and 20th-Century piano trio repertoire. The works include Franz Josef Haydn’s Piano Trio in E-flat Minor, Hob.XV: No. 31, Clara Schuman’s Piano Trio, Op. 17 and Gabriel Fauré’s Trio, Op. 120.
You’ve heard Carmina Burana before, maybe at times without even knowing it: The work’s driving rhythms make selections from Orff’s masterpiece a popular choice for television commercials as well as the concert hall. Come and hear Columbi Pro Cantare bring out the primal nature of the work with full chorus, Kimberly Christie, soprano, Rob McGinness, baritone, David Dickey, countertenor, and a student chorus, accompanied by two pianos and percussion. There will be a pre-concert talk at 7 pm, and a post concert reception.
