Annapolis-based act Kings of Crownsville are a roots Rock band with a New Orleans flavor. The brainchild of New Orleans-raised guitarist/singer/songwriterSteve Johnson, the Kings play a rollicking, entertaining set that stirs Americana, Blues, and Jazz into the mix.
Their signature horn section transports listeners to the streets of the Big Easy, while they also add precise three- and four-part harmonies to their musical gumbo. Think Louis Armstrong meets Steely Dan.

Mount Vernon began as a country estate for Revolutionary War hero John Eager Howard and grew to be the place to live for Baltimore's rich and famous in the mid-nineteenth century. The Garrett family, owners of the B&O Railroad, the Walters, founders of the Walters Art Museum, and the Thomases, owners of Mercantile Bank, are among the families that built handsome mansions along the four parks that surround the Washington Monument. The recent renovations to the 200-year old Washington Monument are the latest news from the revival of this historic neighborhood over the last decade.

Few movements have so profoundly shaped the western world as The Reformation, sparked 500 years ago when a Roman Catholic priest named Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Wittenburg Castle Church. Luther’s call for reforms in the church, emphasizing Scripture and the faith of the individual believer, led to tremendous geopolitical upheaval throughout Europe and forever changed the continent’s theological landscape. This fall, Masterworks Chorale offers a musical commemoration of this event featuring music by Luther himself, J.S. Bach, and Michael Praetorius.
Masterworks Chorale presents its winter concert, which celebrates the 500th anniversary of the Reformation with several settings of its unofficial anthem, “A Mighty Fortress,” sung in chapel by McDaniel (former Western Maryland) College students, among featured works. The performance also includes collaborations with regional ensembles, including the McDaniel College Choir, Children’s Chorus of Carroll County, Frostburg State University Choir and Washington Cornett and Sackbutt Ensemble.
You are cordially invited to Howard Community College piano student spotlight concert. Works by Bach, Chopin, Strauss-Godowsky, Tchaikovsky-Gryaznov, and Gershwin-Wild.
