Trumpeter Ben Holmes & accordionist Patrick Farrell present a suite of original music incorporating Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Conqueror Worm” and accompanied projected animations by visual artist Natalie C. Sousa. A short poem of cosmic scope, The Conqueror Worm provides a canvas for the duo’s richly expressive compositions and accompanying visuals.

After a year of deconstructing their craft and sculpting it from the ground up, Maryland Opera Studio first-year students are paired in operatic scenes from a wide variety of repertory.
Accompanied only by piano and minimal props, these performances give our young artists a chance to shine in the purest of forms.
The Late Boomers make their Baltimore debut at Germano's with a toe-tappin' mix of honky-tonk, swing, country blues and bluesy-grass. The band features veteran DC area singer/songwriter Jeremy "Buck" Stone Schuhmann on guitar/vocals and harmonica, New Orleans transplant Eric Glaser on upright bass, and Annapolis' Elizabeth Melvin (Mama Jama, Jambulay) on vocals/percussion, along with ace multi-instrumentalist Tom McLaughlin (OK Twisters, Mama Tried) on mandolin and guitar. The vocals are tight, the strings are swinging and the atmosphere is hot when the Late Boomers come out to play.
The complex interlocking rhythms of Balinese music on percussive instruments, the myriad expressions and the delicate motions of Balinese dance unite in the UMD Gamelan Saraswati.
Maestra Alsop presents a program of spiritual reflection and sacred inspiration from the Eastern Orthodox Church. Influenced by Bach’s cantata Es ist genug and by Latin mass text, Credo is Arvo Pärt’s merging of the worlds of love and hate to offer healing. Stravinsky’s austerely beautiful and moving Symphony of Psalmsemploys a large chorus and orchestra (without violins and violas) to recreate the dark, mysterious ritual atmosphere of the church. Finally, Rachmaninoff’s lush Symphony No.
Following its momentous win at the 2014 Banff International String Quartet Competition, the Dover Quartet has been hailed for its razor-sharp ensemble and glowing sound.

Due to the success of her 2016 IJD, Global Rhythms show, the charismatic vocalist returns to Germano's to sing a tapestry of timeless rhythms from around the world -arrangements of melodies ranging from the blues to Bossa and from swing to salsa, as well as a few of her own. With each rendering, a musical soundscape of the song and its composer(s) is created for the audience. Accompanied by a section of outstanding players she calls the Georjazz Quartet (GQ).
