Come help us chase winter's gray, cold days away! In the spirit of masquerade festivals around the world, artist Valeska Populoh will lead a two-part, hands-on, family-friendly and inclusive workshop in making colorful animal masks and headdresses.
oin us on Saturday, January 14th from 7-10pm for the opening of 'Standing Still' a solo exhibition of new work by Erin Fostel.
Exhibition runs January 14th - February 4th
The architectural drawings Erin Fostel is currently working on came about through grieving the loss of her father in late 2014. He was an architect who enjoyed exploration, always interested in finding new ways to get from here to there. She wanted to create a body of work that served as both a commemoration of his life, and a relief from the heartbreak of his death.
The public can enjoy fresh local produce, eggs, baked goods, beverages, spices, hand crafts, and prepared foods by Scipio Catering. Lots of family entertainment, live music, community art projects, and more. Check out our Facebook page for special events.

What does true exchange and engagement between an artist and an audience look like, and how can artists incorporate audience feedback into their creative process in a robust way?
Hear from several regionally-based artists about how they’ve experimented with multiple forms of audience engagement to inform their creative process. We’re digging into this subject to help artists prepare proposals for a NextLOOK residency at Joe’s Movement Emporium in the 2017-18 season. The 2017-2018 NextLOOK RFP will be released in mid-January.

Single Carrot Theatre is launching a new series: Playread With Me!
And informal and free reading series on identity in America, Playread With Me! will feature plays that address issues ranging from gender and sexuality to race and representation.
Join us at the WindUp Space in Station North, for this exciting cross between a staged reading and book club. Read roles alongside actors, or just listen, then stick around for a facilitated discussion of the play's themes and its relevance to the community!
THE PLAY:
This playreading meets bookclub invites you to grab a drink, take on a role in the play, and join actors around the table to read a script dealing with identity in America. Then we'll talk about the themes and their relevance to you and Baltimore. Octoroon's discussion will be facilitated by Faedra Chatard Carpenter, Associate Professor of Theatre Scholarship & Performance Studies at University of Maryland, and author of the book Coloring Whiteness: Acts of Critique in Black Performance.
