Ralph Fiennes steals the show in this witty, pretty caper from infamously quirky indie director Wes Anderson, who gave us Moonrise Kingdom and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou.
Fiennes plays M. Gustave, a concierge at the titular hotel in the 1930s, in a magical, fictional Alpine town that can only resist the oncoming war for so long.
After inheriting a valuable painting from one of his many wealthy lovers (Tilda Swinton), Gustave makes an enemy of her family and winds up in prison accused of her murder.
UMBC's Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture presents Gun Show, an exhibition of more than 100 life-size replicas of assault rifles created by artist David Hess from “rescued” objects. The exhibition is curated by Kathy O’Dell, associate professor of visual arts and special assistant to the dean for education and arts partnerships.

UMBC presents a concerto for the 21st-century — a cabaret concerto. A unique and thrilling marriage of the 19th-century concerto form with the grime and sensuality of cabaret — both an innovation and a re-invention of an ancient tradition. Dangerous, intimate, raw and virtuosic, it promises to be an unforgettable night.
As our hero discovers.
Mistress Death comes to call. Your time upon this earth is up. When life is in the balance, what will save you? Love, music or waking from the nightmare?
Let the performance of a lifetime begin!

From its birth in 1776, America has been a nation that embedded political, cultural, and social ideals into its marriage laws and customs. Whether it was trumpeting the ideal of spousal choice over arranged marriage in a nation where people had the ability to choose their government, or cracking down on divorce after the Civil War, when the nation itself went through an unhappy divorce, marriage has always been a locus for the display of American values and beliefs.
