Chicanismo y Latinismo is a group exhibition that explores how the Chicano movement has continued to evolve by moving beyond its West Coast origins and expand its sense of justice to include a multiplicity of Latin American identities. The show also explores how and why artists of various Latin American nationalities identify with or against the label of being Chicano.
Join Gary Rubin, a local favorite, accompanied by Brent Hardesty at the piano, as they weave their magic, singing the classic songs of Sinatra, Bennett, Darin and Buble. A delightful evening of nostalgic and contemporary classics that will compel you to hum and sing along with them and will make everyday a special occasion. You will walk out smiling!
The Moxie Fords, Baltimore's one and only comedic tap dance troupe, are back for their second annual performance at the Yellow Sign Theatre! Travel with us to Never Never Land where we'll meet a cast of zany characters, including a weirdo with a hook, hippies, cursed Irish dancers, ninja turtles, and a bunch of pirates who are really into Adam Ant. Witness cat fights between NKOTB-loving tweens and jealous fairies, pirate vs. Lost Boy dance-offs, and the passionate love affair between a totally obnoxious girl and a guy with intimacy issues who sometimes thinks he's a rooster.
