It's our birthday and we want to give you gifts. Baltimore's most iconic and legendary space for accessible soul. Live music with the mansion band, featured artists open mic, giveaways, the flyest art lovers assembled in one room since 2001. Drinks and food available. Arrive super early to touch the mic. Continuously finding fresh ways to be fresh, the city's heart pumping its blood. We don't stop. Now with a residency at the Motorhouse in Station North for 2017.

The Hot Club of Baltimore, featuring guitarist Michael Joseph Harris, is the premier gypsy jazz group of the region specializing in the vast repertoire of vintage jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt including early swing, musette waltzes, show tunes, be bop, and French standards from the 30's and 40's. The band includes Sami Arefin on rhythm guitar, Ed Hrybyk on bass and Matt Andrews on violin. They will be joined by the beautiful young chanteuse Alexis Tantau who will beguile you with her authentic treatment of songs from Edith Piaf to Ella Fitzgerald.

The New York nightclub world’s most celebrated couple, pianist/singer ERIC COMSTOCK and vocalist BARBARA FASANO, return to Germano’s to celebrate the great songs of Great Britain in their new show, DOWNTON ABBEY ROAD: The Best of Britain.

Grab your flower crowns and crochet tops because this is going to be one awesome party.

Hailing from Bogotá, Colombia, Tribu Baharú is an afro-champeta music crew who are winning over audiences here in the U.S., one city at a time. Considered the most important Afro-Champeta band on the international scene, their live shows , punctuated by lilting guitar work and nearly acrobatic singers, are sweat-drenched, dance parties.
Annapolis-based act Kings of Crownsville are a roots Rock band with a New Orleans flavor. The brainchild of New Orleans-raised guitarist/singer/songwriterSteve Johnson, the Kings play a rollicking, entertaining set that stirs Americana, Blues, and Jazz into the mix.
Their signature horn section transports listeners to the streets of the Big Easy, while they also add precise three- and four-part harmonies to their musical gumbo. Think Louis Armstrong meets Steely Dan.
Winners of the 2016 Merlefest Band Competition, and finalists in the legendary Telluride Bluegrass Band competition, Fireside Collective from Asheville, NC is quickly blazing a name for themselves as a must-see progressive acoustic ensemble.
The Tillers came into being while busking for nickels and dimes in the gtaslight district of Cincinnati. Now far removed from those humble beginnings, the band has won over Cincinnati’s bar and festival scene and launched international tours with tireless momentum. They were awarded CityBeat Magazine’s Cincinnati Entertainment Award for best Folk and Americana act in 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2014. Their relentless gigging has taken them throughout the East coast, the Midwest and West, the Appalachian south, and to the UK and Ireland opening for the St.Louis crooner, Pokey LaFarge.
Broadway Live ACT 1 is a family friendly open mic for Baltimore youth and families to be creative, make new friends, and learn about Broadway from Pros. Enjoy the Open mic or take the stage to perform songs, dance numbers, and scenes from their favorite Broadway shows. Parents and youth will gain valuable feedback from industry professionals to build confidence.

UK British Blues Award winner Bex Marshall’s unique style of guitar playing is a combined technique of slide, blues rock, ragtime and roots pickin’. Her voice is a powerful melting pot of old black woman’s heartache and rock diva soul. Bex is a writer of distinction. She pushes the boundaries of blues, with songs that have been called “timeless” with “touches of genius.” Bex’s latest CD release ‘The House Of Mercy’ has received stunning reviews worldwide.
A modern-day troubadour, Jackson Howard blends the captivating prose and storytelling of Paul Simon with the youthful blue-eyed soul of Jason Mraz and a mesmerizing fingerstyle guitar at times reminiscent of Tommy Emmanuel. Howard has played over 500 shows in the past 2.5 years in the US and Iceland, opened for Nicolas David (The Voice) and Nick Jameson of Foghat, and recently completed his 2nd studio album Just for the Mystery with producers Billy Smiley (Newsboys), Ritchie Biggs (Civil Wars, Switchfoot), and Billy Whittington (Amy Grant).
From the albums Jazz Hymns: Faith Of Our Fathers Vol. 1&2 3&4, some of the most classic, frequently sung and well known hymns of the church are re-imagined in the tradition of straight ahead jazz. Philip K Jones II (piano), Lionel Lyles (saxophone), Mike Graham (bass), and Philip Thomas (drums) will round out the group with special guest vocalist Yolanda Thomas.
Baltimore’s own Kevin Jackson recorded and performed with artists Sheila E.,Chico Debarge, Jennifer Holliday, Maysa, Oli Silk, and more. His potent mix of soulful R&B, rock, contemporary Christian, and contemporary jazz offers something for every taste. On stage, it’s easy to see this is where he is most comfortable. Kevin is a laid back guitar player, but don’t let that fool you. Live, he and his band sneak up on you with tight grooves and sly melodies.
Eliza Salem makes her debut at the Cabaret at Germano's. This exciting trio features Eliza Salem on drums, Cole Abod on piano and Blake Meister on the bass. Eliza is a DMV native who learned her craft in the Washington area's vibrant musical and cultural scene. This performance will showcase the talent of the up-and-coming generation of jazz musicians. Both Eliza and Cole are currently pursuing degrees in Jazz Studies at the University of Michigan, and Blake is a graduate and current faculty member of the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

Art Alive Movement is proud to present Beauty for Ashes: A Benefit for Survivors. This event will feature talented spoken word poets, emcees, and other artists from across the country. Our featured poet is Prentice Powell. Powell has been recognized as a National Slam Finalist, 2006 Oakland and San Francisco Grand Slam Champion, and a 2013 NAACP Image Award Nominee. He has shared the stage with legends including Stevie Wonder, The Roots, and Dr. Cornell West. Other acts performing at the event include Illuminate, Will BElieve, DJ Christina Flame and more.
