Proud native daughter of Baltimore, Margo Christie recounts her memories of Baltimore's fabled Block, as she reads from the novel she wrote to honor her time working there in this not to be missed literary event at the Cabaret at Germano's.
For half a century, 79-year-old, 6’4 rockabilly singer/guitarist Sleepy LaBeef has lived his life on stages, in honky-tonks, and on the road. He has released records over six different decades and has had chart success as far back as the sixties and as recently as 2000. He has shared bills with many of the great musician in history: Elvis Presley, George Jones, Roy Orbison, Wanda Jackson, Carl Perkins, and is an admitted influence to talents as varied as Brian Setzer, Bruce Springsteen, and the Beatles.
Do you wanna build a snowman? Come in from the cold and build one with the SONAR new music ensemble in their winter program Frozen. For this concert, SONAR has commissioned leading Canadian-American composer Robert Baker to write a new work for solo violin and ensemble inspired by Antonio Vivaldi's Winter from the Four Seasons. The new piece draws from Vivaldi's descriptive and inventive music and spins out into an entirely new piece.

One of the Washington, DC area's top honky-tonk groups, Karen Collins & the Backroads Band play real country music. Their original shuffles, two-steps, and buckle-polishing slow tunes project an authentic vintage sound. The twang continues with a list of covers that range from Hank Williams and Ernest Tubb, to Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn, with dashes of Bob Wills and Chuck Berry thrown in.
If you like music with a cinematic flair, this is the concert for you! Catholic University Composer Andrew Earle Simpson will be on hand as we give the world premiere of the work we commissioned from him: a score for the 1920 silent film, One Week, starring Buster Keaton. Rossini and Mussorgsky offer two vivid musical stories, while Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite takes us on a journey through America’s most picturesque landscape.

This is Baltimore City's only dedicated blues jam, hosted by blues guitarist/vocalist Gina DeLuca in an open mic format in historic Fells Point, three blocks north of the waterfront, one block east of Broadway. All are welcome to play the blues or just stop by to hear a set. Free street parking; no cover. Music starts at 8pm and runs until 12 midnight. All ages; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is a smoke-free venue.
