The Jefferson Street Strutters play New Orleans style Dixieland, traditional jazz, and swing, emphasizing popular songs of the 1920’s, 30’s, and 40’s. Melodies that are relevant today. A potpourri of danceable, hummable melodies, both instrumental and with vocals.
We like to say, “we play happy music.” Our audiences join in the fun with handclapping, toe-tapping, smiles and feeling happy.
If ever there was a perfect partner to Beethoven’s moody and dramatic C Minor Piano Concerto, it’s Brahms’ sunny D Major Symphony! And we have selected a very special new work to round out a program of two historic masterpieces: Ruby Fulton’s Deadlock is a virtual chess match in music! Two amazing guest artists join us for this special event. Acclaimed for her interpretations of classic literature, Inna Faliks returns to our stage after too long an absence. And Shodekeh, the virtuoso beatboxer for whom Fulton’s work was written is creating a new version for our concert.

The Borromeo String Quartet pairs its fierce and fiery playing with the spirited agility of Israeli-born pianist Benjamin Hochman. The program features string quartets by Mendelssohn and Sebastian Currier, as well as Dvořák's dynamic Piano Quintet.
Otherworld blends jazz, classical, and Middle Eastern influences, played on a mix of acoustic and electric instruments. The band performs original compositions with an emphasis on improvisation.
“Otherworld”, the group’s debut recording, won a Global Music Award, placing among the top 10 in the “Album” category from among hundreds of entries worldwide.
The album has been featured on NPR affiliate WYPR-FM, Baltimore; Jazz Standard Internet Radio, London; the BIRN (Berklee Internet Radio Network), Boston; and WPFW-FM, Washington D.C.’s premiere jazz station, among others.
Otherworld is honored to play a return engagement at Germano's, Baltimore's prime venue for jazz and cabaret. The contemporary jazz quartet will feature premieres of new tunes as well as fan favorites from our award-winning debut album.
Otherworld has played at jazz clubs, colleges, museums, and outdoor concerts around the Maryland/DC region; on Baltimore television; in live streaming across the United States; and on the radio nationally and internationally. We garnered a Global Music Award for our album, "Otherworld".

Add in stunning guitar work and a warm, intimate performance style, and what do you get? Martin Grosswendt and Susanne Salem-Schatz. Martin is internationally known as an interpreter of prewar blues and other roots music. Susanne slips into any genre and makes it her own; soulful blues singer one minute, sassy honky-tonk gal the next.

Mendelssohn // Piano Concerto No. 1 in G Minor
Bruckner // Symphony No. 9 in D Minor
Fall into the Romantic era with this pair of expressive, energetic pieces. Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto is sublimely performed by Stephen Hough, “A virtuoso who begins where others leave off” (Washington Post). A true visionary, Bruckner transcends audiences with the Ninth, his final Symphony.
