DOUBLE TAKE is the new Madeline Gallucci exhibition presented by Terrault Contemporary.

Please join us for the opening reception of DOUBLE TAKE on Friday, May 6th, 2016 from 7-10pm in tandem with Alloverstreet. The exhibition runs until Saturday, May 28th.

DOUBLE TAKE examines the complexity of surface, alluding to static patterns, digital debris and concepts of camouflage. DOUBLE TAKE combines physical observations of cultural ephemera and synthesizes them into patterns that are abstracted through painting, drawing and digital collaging. DOUBLE TAKE attempts to convey feelings through color that are simultaneously soft, innocent, sexy, wild and repulsive. DOUBLE TAKE recognizes, dissects and sifts through the ambiguity of what we recognize as familiar and how we begin to categorize everyday information.

About the Artist:

Madeline Gallucci received a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2012 where she acquired a passion for image making and working collaboratively.

Madeline has shown locally in Kansas City at Plug Projects, Paragraph Gallery and Leedy-Voulkos Art Center, as well as nationally at Idio Gallery in Brooklyn, NY, Rebekah Templeton in Philadelphia, PA and Skylab Gallery in Columbus, OH. She has been featured in local publications such as The Pitch and KC Magazine. Madeline was recently awarded the 2016 Charlotte Street Foundation Visual Artist Award and will be attending the Little Paper Planes studio residency in San Francisco this coming summer.

In addition to her studio practice, Madeline is Co-Director of Front/Space, a project space located in Kansas City.
