Ageless Grace is the annual concert presented by Dance Baltimore that features performances by and dancers in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond, staged at the Creative Alliance on Sunday, May 29, 2016, 4pm. As in years past, a wide a variety of dance styles will offered including tap, modern, bellydance, African, Polynesian, jazz, social and more. Senior companies and performers in 2016 include Torens Johnson, Antonia, Branch Morgan, Tapsicore, Itinerant Dance Ensemble, Rueda De Casino Baltimore, and more will present solo, duet and ensemble performances.

In a discipline filled with young, flexible dancers, it isn’t often that seniors have the opportunity to take to the stage and offer their own expression through movement. The leg extensions may not be as high as they used to be, the lunges as deep as they used to be but the senior dancers stand on solid ground with intensity, artistic content, and emotion guiding their performance, evident in original choreography and every step on stage. Dancers in this year’s Ageless Grace production are both former professional dancers as well as “community” dancers who perform in more recreational forms.

Audiences of all ages are inspired by the annual Ageless Grace performances and leave annually with a new respect for elders in their midst still embracing and sharing a passion and vibrancy for life.
