Symphony No. 1
BCO is proud to continue our relationship with the Stulberg International String Competition, this year presenting the 2014 Gold Medalist, 16-year-old Zlatomir Fung. Zlatomir may be young, but he is a remarkable musician, a competition winner who has been wowing audiences around the country. The concert concludes with the first symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven, begun at the still tender age of 25. And while Johann Christian Bach was probably not a young man when he composed the bright, vivacious Opus 18 symphonies, this youngest son of the master Johann Sebastian is well known for mentoring the 8-year-old Wolfgang Mozart in London.
