Michel NIrenberg Brazilian Jazz Quartet
Brazilian saxophonist and composer Michel Nirenberg returns with his charismatic quartet to give listeners a completely new experience of Brazilian music. They’ll convey the excitement of the sounds from the dance halls and streets of Brazil, where Nirenberg has led many Carnival parades.
Nirenberg’s 2015 album, Retrato, has received high critical praise. Nirenberg’s music builds bridges between the classical, samba, and choro music he grew up playing in Brazil and the jazz music he explored more deeply as a graduate student in the States.
Two shows, 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
