Black is beautiful. The “too” is implied. In our society, the color of your skin can mean life or death. Also, shades of skin in the form of colorism can have a negative impact on the soul. It’s been 48 years since James Brown said “I’m Black and I’m Proud” yet we still have a color problem. This concert will focus on the beauty of black along with eight other powerful colors. Black is beautiful and unity is powerful. With music, we will uplift our brothers and sisters.
Reginald Cyntje, Trombone/Composer

Reginald Cyntje (born January 27, 1976, in Roseau Dominica and raised on St. Thomas, USVI) is a trombonist, educator, producer and composer. Growing up in the US Virgin Islands (USVI), he was steeped in the rich cultural, improvised, music known as Quelbe that influenced his mission as a musician - to inspire change and social justice through music.
