Amorfo
Paulina Velázquez Solís
February 5th -27th 2016

Opening Reception: February 5th 7-10pm

Variations, cycles and under-represented elements of the bodily experience are the starting point of this exhibition. Amorfo –without a definite form– explores different stages, experiences and sensations of the body. From routine, intimacy and metamorphosis, with drawings, sculpture and video, the body is interpreted in isolated fragments that become creatures of their own.

These works belong to different stages of these explorations including studies of cell shapes and my own bodily observations, routine and the strange changes experienced during pregnancy and the postpartum body -aiming to reflect the raw and playful materiality of the body and our shared human experience.
