Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Jonathan Carney is joined by celebrated American pianist John Nauman in a thrilling program including Beethoven’s Sonata in c minor, Op. 30, no. 2 and the Strauss Violin Sonata in E flat, Op. 18.

Mr. Nauman held the prestigious Van Cliburn Scholarship at the Juilliard School, during which time he and Mr. Carney first performed together.

Mr. Carney is in his 14th season with the BSO, after 12 seasons as Concertmaster with London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

A native of Maryland, Mr. Nauman has been featured in Joseph Horowitz’s book The Ivory Trade and on ABC-TV’s Nightline documenting the VIII Van Cliburn International Competition.

A meet-the-artists reception will follow the concert.
