This class explores the use of fabric and textile materials and methods in the creation of contemporary jewelry. Basic hand-sewing, pattern making, and mark-making with embroidery stitches will be covered, as well as an introduction felt-making. Incorporating metal into one's fiber-based jewelry, linkages, and connection methods will be demonstrated. This class allows students to explore color and texture on the body in unexpected ways. No experience necessary.
