Force's Monument Quilt Display @ JHU: Upsetting the Culture of Rape

Force's Monument Quilt Display @ JHU: Upsetting the Culture of Rape

Please join us for a day long display of Force’s Monument Quilt, created for and by survivors of sexual assault as a place to heal and to find support. The Monument Quilt has been traveling the country, collecting thousands of squares sharing personal stories, words of support, and messages inspiring change. These squares are stitched together to encourage a culture that is publicly supportive of survivors. Soon, The Monument Quilt will culminate in a display that will cover over one mile of the National Mall.

On Friday, April 10th at 12:00, join us on The Beach to view The Monument Quilt and, if you like, create your own quilt square to share a story or a message of support. In addition to the display, this event will feature speakers from SARU and Force, a lunchtime yoga session hosted by Jackie Lebeau from the O’Conner Rec Center, Stressbusters, a relaxation station by Peeps, and more.

Advocates and support will be available all day.

Presented by: Presented by Force, Upsetting Rape Culture, the JHU Center for Health Education and Wellness (CHEW), and the JHU Sexual Assault Resource Unit (SARU); with major support provided by the JHU Dean of Student Life.

Collaborating groups: Baltimore SART, SARU, PEEPS, The O’Connor Rec Center, DMC, and Stressbusters.
