Columbia Pro Cantare salutes the music that represents America to the world: popular songs from the 1920s through 1950s that comprise “The Great American Songbook.” The Songbook includes songs written by more than a dozen composers for

usical theatre and feature films. CPC’s performance will include a selection of works by Gershwin, Cole Porter and others arranged for chorus and soloists. Joining CPC for this concert will be the

Lexington Brass Quintet and Alison Gatwood, piano, and a children’s chorus. There will be a pre-concert talk on the works to be performed at 7 pm and a post-concert reception.
