The Art of Play: Building Resiliency

The data is in! Play is essential in developing resiliency and innovation. Experts in corporate, medical, scientific and government circles have all begun to recognize and utilize the essential skills and diverse thinking that Play can build. Play teaches us how to be resilient in the face of the inevitable failures that come with true innovation, and we learn to welcome those failures as essential guideposts on the path to success.

Whether you’re an actor, doctor, programmer, or banker this class will give you new skills to improvise creatively in the face of any challenge. In learning the Art of Play, you will surprise yourself, challenge yourself beyond your own expectations, be terrified and work through it, succeed in making a brilliant (and hilarious) fool of yourself, have fun even when you don’t feel like it, and risk embarrassment in the pursuit of truth. You will learn the art of stupidity and the beauty of simplicity. You will learn how to go beyond the bounds of normal and access the transcendent hilarity, tragedy and truth that exists inside us all.

In this class we explore group games as well trio, duo and solo exercises to uncover the funny that we all were born with, but just might have gotten covered up along the way.
